Getting creative with a native

The life of a designer is a tad chaotic and I am surrounded by half-finished ideas where I have been experimenting with creating new knitting patterns.

To help sell the yarn I need designs that showcase the colours and the texture yet also demonstrate the practical benefits of wool garments. I also like to reference the Scottish heritage of the sheep and the landscape that inspires me.

Fair Isle patterns are perfect and I am exploring some designs. The 4-ply weight of yarn is giving a lovely crisp finish and by using the natural tone as a consistent background I know all the colours are complementary.

The challenge is to balance the soft tones (Heather and Moss) with the stronger shades (Solway blue, Sunburst lichen and Berry).
